Chromium, patented by the United States Department of Agriculture. Clinical
studies have established that chromium picolinate has an insulin stimulating
and binding action. This action has produced a 44% differential lean muscle
mass gain over placebo groups, and at the same time body fat was decreased
23% (versus 7% for the placebo group). This ingredient is frequently used
in many over-the-counter (OTC) weight loss preparations.
